Disrupting the Disruptor is the brain-child of Dr. Gilbert Binnington. Dr. Binnington was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He earned his B.S. in 1951, and his B.Ed. in 1952 from the University of Saskatchewan, his M.Ed. in 1959 from Oregon State University, and his Ed.D. in 1965 from the University of Oregon.
Gib, as he prefers to be addressed, worked for 11 years as a teacher, principal, and superintendent of schools in Alberta, Canada. From 1965 to 1971 Gib was an Associate Professor of Education at University of Portland and served as Director of Parkrose Family Counseling Center. In 1971, Gib left the University of Portland and established Disruptor Enterprises, an educational consulting and presenting company.
He served as a consultant to the University of Oregon Medical School, Portland Public Schools, and the Association of Special Education Teachers in Santa Cruz, CA. He was also a guest lecturer for Portland State University in their Department of Psychology and at Humboldt State University, CA.
Since he began conducting Disrupting the Disruptor seminars, Gib has presented across the Western U.S., Canada, Germany, and Japan. His first book, Life Begins at 76, was published in 2003.Gib is currently enjoying his retirement in Wenatchee, WA where he enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, a good library, and the wonderful people of the Columbia River Valley.
